Yediler Monastery The Yediler Monastery is located in the foothills of a mountain range known as Beşparmak. These mountains surround the town of Gölyaka and Muğla province. Frescoes depicting Jesus's life, death, and resurrection make this monastery significant to Christians for their faith. The monastery is dating back to 7th century. This monastery is well off the beaten path and difficult to find. Once visitors enter the courtyard, they are able to visit two churches, a chapel, a cistern and monk cells. In Yediler Monastery, important scenes from Christianity's history are told. The story weaves from the crucifixion of Jesus to his burial, and ends with heresies being revealed on frescoes that show notable events in the life of Jesus. The most striking piece of artwork is a 1230-year-old fresco that depicts Jesus Christ and his 12 apostles.
