Marmara Sea is a natural harbor and the most important deep-water gulf in Turkey, where you will find Tekirdag.

There are plenty of places worth exploring in Tekirdag. One of the most famous is Rakoczy House, a Turkish building from 1720 which was originally owned by Hungarian prince Ferenc Rakoczy II. The Rustem Pasha Mosque and Tekirdag Museum are other interesting sites for visitors to explore.

The Marmara Ereglisi area is an ideal place to spend time at the sea, and its many historical sites with charming summer houses make it a popular vacation destination.

Sarköy, located 60 kilometers (37 miles) west of the province, is a sun-sea-sand resort with sandy beaches and holiday villages. It is also a wine production center where a wine festival is held every year. Kumbag and Barbaros are two other beautiful places in addition to their long beaches.

Tekirdag is a city with an important commercial port on the Marmara Sea that has been famous for its sunflowers, meatballs and alcoholic Raki.
