Itinerary Details

Our guide and driver will meet you at your hotel in Cappadocia at 08:30 AM, and we will begin our journey by driving to one of the most important historical sites along the ancient Silk Road: Sultanhani Caravanserai. This is one of the biggest caravanserais on the Silk Road and dates back to the 13th century. The caravanserai once served as a rest stop for merchants and travelers journeying along the Silk Road, providing shelter, food, and safety. Upon arrival, our guide will provide you with fascinating insights about the Silk Road, its historical significance, and how these caravanserais played a vital role in facilitating trade and cultural exchange between the East and the West.

After visiting Sultanhani, we will continue our journey with a 1.5-hour drive to Konya, home to the Mevlana Museum, an essential stop for anyone interested in spiritual and cultural history. The Mausoleum of Rumi (known as Mevlana Müzesi in Turkish) is one of the most revered pilgrimage sites in Turkey and is a must-see destination in Konya. The mausoleum houses the tomb of the famous mystic, Sufi philosopher, and thinker Rumi, whose teachings of love and tolerance continue to inspire millions around the world. In Turkish, he is affectionately known as Mevlana, but his full name is Mawlana Jalal ad-Din Muhammad Balkhi-Rumi.

The museum also includes a neighboring exhibit displaying relics from Rumi's life and the 13th century. As you explore, you’ll encounter old manuscripts, including hand-written copies of the Koran, musical instruments that were used during Rumi’s time, and a variety of art works dating back to the Seljuk era. These exhibits offer a profound connection to the time of Rumi and provide deeper insight into the Sufi tradition. After immersing yourself in the rich spiritual atmosphere of the museum, you will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant where you can savor authentic Turkish cuisine.

Our final stop of the day will be the Ince Minareli Medrese, a stunning example of Islamic architecture in Turkey. This theological school, built in the 13th century, is famous for its amazing portal gate, which is considered one of the best examples of Islamic architecture in the country. The intricacy and beauty of the gate, combined with the historical importance of the building itself, make this an unforgettable stop. The medrese was once an educational institution for religious scholars, and it now serves as a museum showcasing the artistic and intellectual legacy of the Seljuk period.

After exploring the Ince Minareli Medrese, the tour will end around 17:00 – 17:30, and we will drive you back to your hotel, allowing you to reflect on the remarkable cultural and spiritual history you’ve experienced throughout the day.
