Private Tour
The tours we offer are designed for those who prefer a relaxed pace, comprehensive insights from knowledgeable guides, local meals in small boutique restaurants (we avoid large bus group venues with open-buffet lunches), and a small group experience. If you prefer tours that visit many sites quickly, these may not align with your expectations.
Our professional guide and experienced driver will meet you at 09:30 at your hotel in Goreme or other towns. We will begin our journey with a short 5-minute drive to the Goreme Panorama Point, where you will enjoy a breathtaking view of Goreme Town and the mesmerizing valleys of Cappadocia. This elevated viewpoint offers an incredible photo opportunity to capture the unique landscape shaped by volcanic activity and erosion over thousands of years.
At this point, our expert guide will introduce you to the fascinating history and geography of the region, explaining how these surreal rock formations and underground cities came into existence. Our next stop is one of the most remarkable places in Cappadocia: Derinkuyu Underground City. This is Cappadocia’s deepest underground city, stretching an astonishing 60 meters beneath the surface. It was once a refuge for early Christians escaping persecution and features an intricate network of tunnels, ventilation shafts, storage rooms, kitchens, and even a church. Walking through these ancient passages, you will get a real sense of how people once lived in this hidden world.
From there, we will continue our adventure to one of Turkey’s most stunning canyons: Ihlara Canyon. This breathtaking canyon is known for its dramatic scenery, lush greenery, and a serene river flowing through it. We will embark on an unforgettable 3-kilometer hike through the canyon, which will be one of the highlights of our journey. As we walk for approximately 1 hour, we will pass by a series of Byzantine rock-cut churches, many of which still have frescoed interiors depicting religious scenes. This peaceful walk will allow you to immerse yourself in the natural beauty and history of the region.
The hike will conclude in Belisirma Village, a charming riverside settlement where we will stop for a delightful lunch at a picturesque riverside restaurant. Here, you will have the opportunity to enjoy traditional Turkish cuisine while listening to the calming sounds of the river and taking in the tranquil atmosphere of the village.
After lunch, we will take a 15-minute drive to one of the most impressive historical sites in Cappadocia: Selime Monastery. This extraordinary rock-cut monastery is the largest in the region and offers a glimpse into the monastic life of ancient times. As we climb up, you will have the chance to explore its spacious cathedral, kitchen, monastery cells, and church structures. The panoramic views from the monastery are simply breathtaking, offering an incredible perspective on the rugged landscape of Cappadocia.
Following our visit to Selime Monastery, we will embark on a 1-hour and 30-minute scenic drive back towards Uchisar. Our final stop of the day will be at the Pigeon Valley Panorama, where you will witness one of the most famous views in Cappadocia. Named after the pigeon houses carved into the cliffs, this valley holds historical significance as pigeons were once used for communication and fertilization purposes by local farmers. Around 5:30 PM, we will return you safely to your hotel, concluding an unforgettable day of exploration in Cappadocia.
