Derinkuyu Underground City
Our next stop is Derinkuyu Underground City, Cappadocia's deepest subterranean settlement, stretching an astonishing 60 meters beneath the surface. It was once a refuge for early Christians escaping persecution. Walking through these intricate tunnels and storage rooms, you will get a real sense of how people lived in this hidden world.
Hike in Ihlara Canyon
We continue our adventure to one of Turkey's most stunning canyons: Ihlara Canyon. We will embark on an unforgettable 3-kilometer hike (approx. 1 hour) alongside the river. We will pass by a series of Byzantine rock-cut churches, allowing you to immerse yourself in natural beauty and history.
Boutique Lunch in Belisirma
The hike concludes in Belisirma Village, where we stop for a delightful lunch at a local boutique restaurant. You will have the opportunity to rest and enjoy traditional Turkish cuisine before continuing your journey.
Selime Monastery
After a short 15-minute drive, we arrive at the extraordinary Selime Monastery, the largest rock-cut monastery in the region. As we climb up, you will explore its spacious cathedral, kitchen, and monastery cells while enjoying breathtaking views of the rugged landscape.
Pigeon Valley Panorama & Return
Following a scenic drive back towards Uchisar, our final stop is the Pigeon Valley Panorama. Named after the pigeon houses carved into the cliffs, this valley holds great historical significance. Around 5:30 PM, we will return you safely to your hotel.
