Guaranteed Departure Days: Everyday of the Year

North Cappadocia Red Tour with lunch will start at 09:30 from your hotel in Goreme or little earlier from other towns (we will let you know about the pick-up time from other towns at the time of booking). The tour commences with a visit to Uçhisar Castle Viewpoint, the highest rock formation in Cappadocia. The guide will elucidate the geological processes that led to the formation of this remarkable landscape.

At the Zelve Open Air Museum, the guide will discuss the significance of Christianity and monastic life in Cappadocia. Although Zelve does not boast as many richly adorned frescoes as other sites in Cappadocia, it offers an extensive network of rooms and passages. The valley is also home to numerous pointed "fairy chimneys," with their stems rising about 40 feet above the valley floor. The tour continues with a visit to the old Greek houses in Çavuşin village, which were abandoned during the Greek-Turkish population exchange in 1924.Enjoy a delightful lunch in Avanos, featuring a diverse selection of Cappadocian cuisine, including mezes, salads, meat and vegetarian dishes, and desserts.

Post-lunch, visit an authentic family-run pottery workshop situated in an underground cave. Here, clay from the Kızılırmak (Red) River, used in pottery production since the Hittite era prior to 1800 BC, is still an art form today. Observe a master potter at work, and witness the intricate patterns applied by painters and glazers. Guests are welcome to try their hand at the potter’s wheel and create their own unique pottery piece. The next visit will be to Paşabağ, also known as Monks Valley due to the Chapel of Saint Simeon located there. Wander through the extraordinary clusters of multi-headed mushroom-shaped “fairy chimneys”. We will conclude the tour with a visit to Devrent Valley, a stunning landscape where natural rock formations resemble various recognizable shapes, including the famous camel-shaped rock. The tour ends with a return to your hotel at approximately 04:00 PM.
