Tour Itinerary
Hotel Pick-Up & Uchisar Castle Viewpoint
The Classical Red Tour starts around 09:30 from your hotel. We begin our day at the Uchisar Castle Viewpoint, taking in the sweeping panoramic views of the valleys below from the highest vantage point in central Cappadocia.
Cavusin Old Greek Village
Next, we visit the historic Cavusin Old Greek Village. You will have the opportunity to see massive rock collapses that reveal intricate inner cave dwellings and some of the region's oldest basilicas carved directly into the cliffside.
Zelve Open Air Museum & Pasabag
We then drive to the incredible Zelve Open Air Museum, exploring its three interconnected valleys of ancient cave homes. Following Zelve, we head just down the road to Pasabag (Monks Valley), where you can walk right up to the famous multi-capped fairy chimneys.
Lunch in Avanos
After a morning of exploring, we cross the famous Kizilirmak (Red River) into the town of Avanos, where we will stop at a local restaurant for a delicious, traditional Cappadocian lunch.
Avanos Kick-Wheel Pottery Demo
Staying in Avanos, a town renowned for its terracotta craftsmanship since the Hittite period, we will visit a local workshop. Here, you will witness a captivating Kick-Wheel Pottery Demonstration and even have the chance to try molding the red clay yourself.
Devrent Valley & Return
Our final stop is the whimsical Devrent Valley (Imagination Valley). Unlike other valleys, it was never inhabited; instead, it features unique lunar-like landscapes and naturally formed animal-shaped rocks. After snapping photos with the famous "camel rock," we will comfortably drop you back at your hotel around 16:30 - 17:00.
