Day 1

Cappadocia to Gaziantep, Harran & Şanlıurfa

Meet your private guide and driver at your Cappadocia hotel at approximately 07:00. Begin the journey toward southeastern Turkey, stopping after around three and a half hours in Kahramanmaraş to taste the city’s famous traditional goat-milk ice cream.

Continue for approximately one hour to Gaziantep and visit the Zeugma Mosaic Museum. The museum protects an exceptional collection of Roman mosaics, frescoes, fountains, sculptures and architectural pieces recovered from the ancient city of Zeugma beside the Euphrates.

After the museum, enjoy lunch at a respected local kebab restaurant before driving approximately two hours to Harran. Explore the settlement’s distinctive adobe beehive houses, castle remains and the ruins associated with its historic center of scholarship.

Continue for approximately 45 minutes to Şanlıurfa, check in to your hotel and rest before dinner at a selected local restaurant. The evening meal provides an introduction to Şanlıurfa’s celebrated kebabs and desserts. Overnight in Şanlıurfa.

Meals included: Lunch and dinner.

Day 2

Şanlıurfa, Göbeklitepe, Karahantepe & Mount Nemrut Sunset

After breakfast, explore the historical center of Şanlıurfa, traditionally known as the City of Prophets. Visit Balıklıgöl – the Pool of Abraham, where local tradition tells how fire became water and burning wood became the sacred fish still living in the pool.

Continue through the old streets of Şanlıurfa before driving approximately 30 minutes to Göbeklitepe. Walk around the protected excavation area and examine its monumental T-shaped pillars, animal reliefs and ceremonial enclosures dating to the beginning of the Neolithic period.

The next visit is Karahantepe, another remarkable Taş Tepeler site that shares Göbeklitepe’s prehistoric cultural world while presenting its own distinctive human imagery, carved heads and ritual spaces.

Enjoy lunch in a restored historical caravanserai before continuing toward Adıyaman. Check in to the hotel and rest briefly, then drive to Mount Nemrut.

From the national park entrance, walk uphill for approximately 20 minutes to reach the royal sanctuary and monumental terraces of King Antiochus I.
