Day 1 (Drive from Cappadocia to Gaziantep, lunch & dinner included)

We will meet you at your hotel in Cappadocia at 08:00am and drive to our first stop after about 3,5 hours in Kahramanmaras to taste the world-wide famous goat milk ice-cream. Then, we will drive about 1 hour to get to Gaziantep and have lunch. After lunch, we will visit Zeugma Mosaic Museum. The Gaziantep Mosaic Museum has Turkey's finest fully protected mosaics. The museum has beautiful mosaics from Zeugma Ancient City. Zeugma is in the Tentative List of UNESCO since 2021. These mosaics are a 2000 years old and unique in design, colour and perfection. Besides this 1450 m² of mosaics, there are also 140 m² of frescoes, 4 Roman fountains, 20 columns, 4 limestone sculptures, bronze statue of Mars, grave steles, and sarcophagi.

We will then drive about 1,5 hours to get to Sanliurfa. Before dinner, we will take a stroll through the Sanliurfa center. This city has a rich history, as it is said that the Old Testament prophets Jethro, Job, Elijah, and Abraham all resided here. Additionally, the region was the temporary home of Prophet Moses, who worked as a shepherd for seven years before returning to Egypt. This historical connection has earned the city the title of 'The City of Prophets.' During our visit, we will explore the Pool of Prophet Abraham, where it is believed that Abraham, refusing to follow the religion of Nimrod, was thrown into a fire in an attempt to kill him. However, as a follower of God, Abraham emerged unharmed, and miraculously, the fire transformed into water, with the firewood turning into the carps that now inhabit the pool. Our journey will also include a leisurely walk through the streets, which boast a remarkable harmony of diverse cultures and ethnic groups.

Overnight accommodation in Sanliurfa..

Day 2 ( Visit Harran & Gobeklitepe & Karahantepe, sunset in Mt. Nemrut, breakfast, lunch and dinner included)

After having breakfast at the hotel, we will drive to Harran about 1 hour.. Harran is where Prophet Abraham lived for a while. Despite the fact that it is situated in a dry, barren plain, Harran has managed to stay alive for 5000 years. The commerce from Anatolia to Mesopotamia and from Mesopotamia back again provided welfare and an immutable culture for thousands of years through Harran and ensured its survival. Harran is famous for it's adobe houses (bee-hive houses), castle and the university building from 08th century. Harran has been on the UNESCO Tentative List since 2000.

After this visit, we will drive about 30 minutes to get to one of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Turkey: Gobeklitepe. Gobekli Tepe is the earliest known evidence of monumental human-made architecture so far. The site has been proved by the scientists that it is the oldest temple in the world from 11,500 years ago. The site features a large number of limestone pillars, many decorated with the stylized image of a T, and archaeoastronomers believe these also served an astronomically aligned function, as well.

The upcoming expedition is set to explore the recently discovered and yet-to-be-fully-excavated site, Karahantepe. Karahantepe, a significant Pre-Pottery Neolithic Site, is located in the Taş Tepeler Region of Southeast Turkey, nestled in the province of Şanlıurfa. The term "Taş Tepeler" translates fittingly to "stone hills," accurately portraying an area hosting numerous archaeological sites, known for its T-shaped anthropomorphic pillars reminiscent of those prominent at Göbekli Tepe. What makes Karahan Tepe intriguing is its connection to the same cultural context as Göbekli Tepe, albeit with distinctive features. In contrast to the more formal, realistic, and intricately crafted imagery found at Göbekli Tepe, the depictions at Karahan Tepe, while still imbued with ritualistic significance, are characterized by a more dynamic quality and less refined rendering.

After this amazing visit and lunch, we will drive about 3,5 hours to get to the summit of Mount Nemrut. Mount Nemrut has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987. We will hike up to summit about 20 minutes after arriving to the entrance of the national park. After seeing one of the best sunsets in the world, statues of gods and kings, we will drive down from the mount to our hotel to have our dinner. Overnight in Adiyaman.

Day 3 (Drive back to Cappadocia or Flight back to Istanbul, breakfast included)

After having the breakfast at the hotel, we will drive you back to Cappadocia with a lunch stop on the way. If you wish, we can drop you off in Adiyaman Airport to fly to Istanbul airport.
