Although the tradition of making stone bread, obtained by baking thin dough on a griddle, dates back to much earlier periods in the region, the dessert made from this bread is mentioned in a source from 1968. Especially produced on special occasions such as holidays, weddings, and engagements, Elazığ Stone Bread Dessert holds a significant place in the culinary culture of the Elazığ province and is associated with its reputation through geographical boundaries.

Preparation of Stone Bread Desserts: In a food-safe hollow bowl, cracked eggs are whisked with salt for 4-5 minutes using a wooden spoon. After adding milk, it is stirred with a wooden spoon. Yeast, dissolved in warm water, is added to the mixture, and by adding flour, a smooth dough is obtained. A piece of cotton cloth is wrapped around a wooden spatula, dipped in melted butter, and then spread onto the heated griddle for 5 minutes. Using a ladle, 100 grams of dough is poured onto the greased griddle each time, and after frying for two minutes on each side, the stone breads are prepared.
