The roasting of poppy seeds is carefully performed in specialized roasting machines. Skill in roasting is crucial as it aims to achieve a darker color for the seeds. Once roasted, the poppy seeds are cooled using equipment such as fan machines until they reach room temperature. Then, they undergo the grinding process using machines designed for this purpose. This results in obtaining a dense poppy paste. The color of Sandıklı Poppy Paste varies in the final product based on the color of the poppy seeds and the roasting process.
