Topkapi Palace, Grand Bazaar and Suleymaniye Mosque Tour will begin at 10:00 AM as you meet your professional guide in Sultanahmet Square. After a short introduction to the day's itinerary, you will start your journey through the magnificent history of the Ottoman Empire.
Your first stop will be Topkapı Palace, the grand residence of Ottoman sultans for nearly 400 years. Built in the 15th century by Sultan Mehmed II, this vast palace complex is home to exquisite courtyards, imperial halls, and priceless treasures. You will explore highlights such as the Imperial Council Chamber, the Treasury (where you can see the famous Topkapı Dagger and Spoonmaker’s Diamond), and the Holy Relics Chamber. The tour will also include a special visit to the **Harem**, a secluded area of the palace that housed the sultan’s family. As you walk through its beautifully decorated chambers, your guide will share fascinating stories about the lives of the sultans, queens, and concubines who lived here.
After leaving Topkapı Palace, you will head to the historic Grand Bazaar, one of the world’s largest and oldest covered markets. Established in the 15th century, the bazaar features more than 4,000 shops, offering everything from handmade carpets and jewelry to ceramics and antiques. As you stroll through its labyrinthine alleys, your guide will introduce you to the vibrant culture of Turkish trade and craftsmanship. You will also have free time to explore the shops, bargain with local vendors, and pick up unique souvenirs.
At around 1:30 PM, you will take a lunch break at a traditional restaurant, where you can enjoy some of Turkey’s most famous dishes, such as grilled kebabs, mezes, and Turkish desserts like baklava. The lunch is not included in the rate.
After lunch, you will visit the magnificent Süleymaniye Mosque, one of the most impressive works of the great Ottoman architect Mimar Sinan. Completed in 1557 during the reign of Suleiman the Magnificent, this mosque is a masterpiece of Ottoman architecture, combining simplicity, elegance, and grandeur. As you step inside, you will admire its high domes, intricate tile work, and stunning calligraphy. The mosque complex also houses the tombs of Sultan Suleiman and his wife Hürrem Sultan (Roxelana), adding a historical depth to your visit. From the courtyard, you can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the **Golden Horn and Bosphorus**.
The tour will conclude at around 4:00 PM, after which your guide will show you the way back to your hotel or provide recommendations for further exploration in Istanbul’s Old City.
