2-Day Private Tour Itinerary from Istanbul
Fly to Şanlıurfa, Visit Balıklıgöl & Göbeklitepe
Your journey begins with an early private pick-up from your Istanbul hotel and a transfer to Istanbul Airport. Fly to Şanlıurfa, where your licensed private guide and driver will meet you at the airport exit with a sign displaying your name. Exact pick-up and flight times are confirmed according to the available airline schedule for your travel date.
Begin in the historical center of Şanlıurfa, traditionally known as the City of Prophets. Visit Balıklıgöl – the Pool of Abraham , where local tradition tells how the fire prepared for Prophet Abraham became water and the burning wood became the sacred fish still living in the pool.
Continue with a walk through the old streets, where stone houses, bazaars, courtyards and places of worship reflect the city’s layered cultural history. Enjoy lunch at a selected local restaurant before continuing to the archaeological part of the program.
Drive approximately 30 minutes to Göbeklitepe. Walk around the protected excavation area and examine the monumental T-shaped pillars, carved animals and ceremonial enclosures dating to the beginning of the Neolithic period. Your guide will explain why this discovery changed ideas about early communities, organized labor and ritual life.
After the visit, continue by private vehicle for approximately one and a half hours to Adıyaman. Check in to your hotel and enjoy dinner before resting for the very early departure to Mount Nemrut the following morning. Overnight in Adıyaman.

Mount Nemrut Sunrise, Commagene Sites & Return to Istanbul
Wake early, normally at approximately 03:30, and depart by private vehicle for Mount Nemrut. The precise departure time changes according to the season, sunrise time, hotel location and mountain access conditions.
From the national park entrance, walk uphill for approximately 20–30 minutes to reach the summit terraces. Watch the first light appear across the mountains beside the monumental stone heads and sanctuary created by King Antiochus I of Commagene. Explore the eastern and western terraces while your guide explains the sanctuary’s blend of Greek, Persian and local traditions.
Descend from the mountain and continue to Arsameia Ancient City . Follow part of its ceremonial route and see the rock relief of Antiochus and Heracles, the monumental inscription and remains connected with the royal cult of Commagene.
The journey continues to the ancient Cendere Bridge, an elegant Roman structure spanning the river gorge, and Karakuş Tumulus, a royal funerary monument distinguished by its surviving columns and eagle sculpture.
Return to the hotel for breakfast and check-out. At the appropriate time, transfer privately to Adıyaman Airport and fly back to Istanbul. On arrival, meet your driver for the final private transfer to your Istanbul hotel.
