Your day begins with a market visit when available, followed by a hands-on cooking class in a local home. You will prepare classic Turkish dishes such as lentil soup, karnıyarık, and sarma, then enjoy your homemade lunch with Turkish coffee. In the afternoon, continue to a local village where tourism has not changed daily life, walk through the streets, meet locals when possible, and learn the basics of Okey in the village coffeehouse.

Hotel Pick-Up in Cappadocia
Your guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel in Cappadocia. After a short introduction, you will begin your day with a local market visit when the market is available.
Local Market Visit
Visit one of Cappadocia’s local markets and choose some of the ingredients for the dishes you will prepare. This is a beautiful way to observe seasonal produce, local shopping habits, and everyday food culture. Please note that the market visit is not available on Tuesday and Thursday.
Cooking in a Local Home
Continue to a local house and start preparing traditional Turkish food. You will first learn how to make Turkish lentil soup, one of the most popular and comforting soups in Turkey.
Karnıyarık & Sarma Preparation
While the soup is cooking, you will prepare karnıyarık, a traditional eggplant dish filled with onion, garlic, tomato, parsley, black pepper, and ground meat. You will also learn how to prepare sarma, stuffed vine leaves cooked with olive oil, including vine leaf selection and rolling techniques.
Enjoy the Meal You Cooked
After the cooking session, sit down and enjoy your homemade Turkish lunch. Fresh fruit from the market may be served as dessert, followed by Turkish coffee and an introduction to the traditions of coffee preparation, serving, and drinking.
Drive to a Local Village
After the cooking experience, continue to a local village in Cappadocia where daily life remains quiet and authentic. This part of the tour is designed to show a side of Cappadocia away from hotels, restaurants, and tourist routes.
Meet Local Life
Walk through the village with your guide and learn about rural life, local work, family traditions, and seasonal routines. When possible, you may meet villagers, see people working in vineyards, or simply enjoy the slow rhythm of a traditional Cappadocian village.
Village Coffeehouse, Okey Game & Hotel Drop-Off
Visit the main coffeehouse in the village and learn the basics of Okey, one of Turkey’s most popular social games. After this final cultural experience, we will drive you back to your hotel. The tour usually ends around 17:00.

- Please inform us in advance about allergies, vegetarian requests, or dietary restrictions.
- We will confirm availability and send the final program details.
- A 30% deposit is required to confirm the reservation.
- After confirmation, your travel voucher will be sent by email.
- The remaining balance can be paid before or after the experience.
Cancellation Highlights for Cooking Classes
- Free Cancellation: No cancellation fee if canceled at least 48 hours before the scheduled experience.
- Late Cancellation (24-48 hours): If canceled within 48 to 24 hours before the class, a 50% cancellation fee will apply.
- Last-minute (Under 24 hours): Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the class will be charged the full amount.
- No-shows: Guests who do not arrive for the experience without prior notice are considered no-shows and payments are non-refundable.
