Your experience begins with hotel pick-up and, depending on the day, a visit to a local market to choose fresh ingredients. Then you continue to a local house where you prepare traditional Turkish recipes such as lentil soup, karnıyarık, and sarma. After cooking, sit down and enjoy the meal you prepared, followed by fresh fruit and Turkish coffee.

Your guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel in Cappadocia. After a short introduction, you will begin your culinary experience with a visit to a local market when the market is available.

Local Market Visit

Visit a local market and choose some of the ingredients for the dishes you will prepare. This is a lovely opportunity to see seasonal produce, local shopping habits, and the everyday food culture of Cappadocia. Please note that the market visit is not available on Tuesday and Thursday.

Late Morning

Start Cooking in a Local Home

Continue to a local house and begin preparing your meal. You will first learn how to make Turkish lentil soup, one of the most popular soups in the country and a comforting classic in Turkish homes.

Midday

Karnıyarık & Sarma Preparation

While the soup is cooking, you will prepare karnıyarık, a traditional eggplant dish filled with onion, garlic, tomato, parsley, black pepper, and ground meat. You will also learn how to prepare sarma, stuffed vine leaves cooked with olive oil, including the rolling technique and tips for choosing good vine leaves.

Lunch

Enjoy the Meal You Cooked

After the cooking session, sit down and enjoy your homemade Turkish lunch. The meal is relaxed, warm, and personal — a beautiful way to experience local life in Cappadocia through food and conversation.

Turkish Coffee & Return to Hotel

  • We will confirm availability and send the final program details.
  • A 30% deposit is required to confirm the reservation.
  • After confirmation, your travel voucher will be sent by email.
  • The remaining balance can be paid before or after the experience.

Cancellation Highlights for Cooking Classes

  • Free Cancellation: No cancellation fee if canceled at least 48 hours before the scheduled experience.
  • Late Cancellation (24-48 hours): If canceled within 48 to 24 hours before the class, a 50% cancellation fee will apply.
  • Last-minute (Under 24 hours): Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the class will be charged the full amount.
  • No-shows: Guests who do not arrive for the experience without prior notice are considered no-shows and payments are non-refundable.
