History of the Museum

The Museum of the History of Science and Technology in Islam opened in 2008 inside the historic Has Ahırlar buildings in Gülhane Park.

Its concept was prepared by Prof. Dr. Fuat Sezgin, one of the most influential modern scholars devoted to the history of science in the Islamic world.

The museum occupies the Has Ahırlar, a historic structure inside Gülhane Park adjoining the palace walls.
